Personal Writing Style!

Hello everyone!!
I did not have a personal writing style, until a couple of years ago. I was raised in Mexico, where I attended elementary school, junior high, high school, and college. Essays and research projects are not something that I was used to. I discovered about the art of writing until I started taking college classes in the U.S. I might say that I love to write anything and anywhere, I enjoy a lot free writing and brainstorming, because I can just put in a paper whatever I am thinking. It does not matter if my ideas are out of context or if I have some grammar mistakes, because I can came back and polish my work. Brainstorming, gives me the opportunity to connect one thought to another and so on. With this technique I can choose which are going to be my main ideas and which ones are going to be support ideas. In combination with these two techniques I can make a pretty decent draft in a short time.

Well.... now speaking about what changes have school bring to my life, I can say that they have been many. Now I am more aware of the Public Health problems that are going around my community and my city. I express my self better and clearer, because I have information and college education to back up my points of view. Overall, being in school has help me to become more confident about my self.

Borrowing Ideas......

Why is important to cite our sources??? I think that it is important to give credit to others for what they said, investigate, or thought. Just because an idea is not something tangible, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist or belong to someone. When we cite our sources, we are saying that we barrow that information from someone else. Moreover, we can avoid law suit, school expulsions,or bad grades by following the simple steps to cite our sources. Plagiarism is immoral and a fraud, according the U.S law, "the expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property, and is protected by copyright laws" (Plagiarism.org, 2010).

If I had created something and someone else use it with out giving me credit, I would talk to that person and explain why is wrong to borrow ideas or productions from an existing source. Furthermore, I would try to get credit for my job either by talking to my superiors or professors, or by a legal matter.

Some issues of plagiarism that I can think of in professional settings is when a person writes a song and then because he or she did not register that song, someone else do it and get credit and money for it. This kind of issues should be handled according to the law copyright protection.

We can find anything on internet, all kinds of information from all kind of sources. It could be difficult to determine what is borrow or not. I think that all ends up on us; we should practice our moral values and be honest with our selves and others, in order to avoid problems.

The Online Student

Dear classmates and Professor:

I earned a Bachelor's degree of Science from Mexico 5 years ago. I had the opportunity to be an onground student for 6 years. The difference is a lot, but I can't say that one is better than the other. One of the reasons why I like the online environment is because you do not have to be running, get ready, drive, and spend 1 hour on the traffic to attend a class. Moreover, Kaplan University has great programs that encourage students to do their best and keep up with each class and each assignment. For example, I never had a face to face discussion about a topic in my old University; probably because some people doesn't like to confront others in public or doesn't like to talk in front of many people. The weekly discussion boards in my classes are great. I have learned a lot out of them and you can share experiences, ideas, and, thoughts with your classmates and Professors. Another thing that I love about the online environment is the communication that you have with your Professors and the feedback that they give you. Because onground classes are so crowded I seldom had the opportunity to speak with a professor or have a conversation about certain academic topic. Even though we take classes in different places, cities, or communities I feel more in touch with my professors than in the onground environment. As, I said before, online education is not better than Onground education or the other way around, there just different. I would not change the experiences and the knowledge that I acquired during those years and I would not change the way that I am conducting my professional studies at the present time.

I like online classes, because I like to work on my own and at my own pace, and I do not like to be interrupted by somebody's cell phone in the middle of the class. I am not a grouchy person; I just like to focus on what I am doing. I do not know what can work to bring closer communities; I think that it depends on each individual and their social needs.

Thank you guys for reading, have a nice day =0)

oops!!

I am confused!!!!!
Hi my name is America Ramirez and I am so confused with my blog assignments. I did not have any trouble while setting up my blog, actually I think that it was real fast and easy. My problem is understanding how to use it and what to post. So I need to write a welcome statement, right?? Well...... WELCOME to my blog!! I have written some stuff that probably was not necessary for the class, but at least I am writing a lot. That is the main idea of the blog, isn't it? I just hope to do better next week, and learn more cyber things during this term.

See you guys in class!!!

CHANGES

OK I need to take a deep breath to start typing........ Changes that I have faced or changes that I have made....
Well, I have faced and made many chances in my life and in the life of others. Every day is different, so every day I face some sort of change. Probably a change that has made a great difference in my life, was leaving my family and moving to live in Austin Texas. It is difficult to start a new life, to live in a new house, make new friends, look for a new job, but overall being in a new and different place. I do love the city, but I thought that all Texas was dry and hot. What a surprise when we arrived to the sub-tropical climate of the city with tons of trees, rain, and all kinds of animals running every where.Probably I am exaggerating a little, but believe me in El Paso Texas, we only have death squirrels on the freeway and cacti!!! I mean is not bad, I am just saying that I was not use to live sharing my life with nature.
So far we have been living here for one year, I don't know if we are going to stay here for ever, but every day that passes by I feel that I belong less to El Paso, at the end, starting a new life is not that bad, is just a change.
